Before our trip to Florida and California I picked up a journal that had on it's front cover, "in everything give thanks" and have been writing daily with this in mind.  When our flight was delayed and we arrived in the Orlando hotel at 2 am. Rising from the northeast horizon, these high streaming clouds reminded us of a river. It was almost surreal like a warning or a message.

A month ago, when Ciscoe Morris visited us, he pointed out a canker on the lilacs, mentioning it did not look good, and might be hard to get rid of. Then last week when we were touring the garden with another guest, I noticed similar spots, large red and circular on the espaliered pear. There were some problems he needed to resolve. For one, the water was extremely hard since he came last and shut off one of the wells into the system. Last week, with the warmer weather, I moved the wintered over ivy geranium hanging basket from the greenhouse and placed it undercover on a hook by the back door. By the end of the day there was a junco nest in it.

God used these 5  frustrations to point me back to myself and then to encourage. 


1. Holes and piles of dirt wait three months for several workmen.

Point: God prepared the way for me to write. Three months later no proposal sent out.

God's grace to us was evident. All things are under His command and power including volcanos. Mt Redoubt in Alaska was stilled until this morning when it errupted twice with a 12 mile high ash plume and greater later. I am not sure if ash fell in Anchorage, but some planes were delayed.
